  • Transcribe an audio file from start to finish with minimal mistakes
  • Master grammar and punctuation so you can type what is being said with accuracy, even if the speaker isn’t using accurate grammar
  • Increase your productivity through text expanders, hotkeys, and keyboard shortcuts
  • Learn advanced techniques such as working with files with more than two speakers or timestamping
  • Practice cleaning up bad audio so that it’s easier to work with
  • Gain hands-on experience by transcribing practice files that correspond to a specific transcription skill

When filling the online application form; please take note of your desired Training Month, Duration in Weeks and Training Session. This will give us the exact dates you will be attending your classes.

Also note that Tuition Fees must be paid upfront on or before training start date. This is to ensure that all resources are made availabe for you before you start. You will not be allowed into training if fees are not paid and verified.

Also note that Tuition Fees Cancellations must be made 14 business working days before the starting date of training. This will allow us to do a 50% refund of the total amount paid. If cancellations are made thereafter note that no refund will be made to delegates.

Tuition Fees include teas and lunch as well as either a laptop or tablet which a delegate will take home free of charge.

Tuition Fee DOES NOT include Accommodation, Dinners and other Extra Curricular Activities or Incidentals. Delegates are expected to fund this on their own. AATICD will not be held accountable for any incidents to delegates.

Element: 1. Prepare for audio transcription

  •  Prior to commencing the task, identify organizational requirements relating to style, presentation, and storage of texts
  •  Clarify the purpose and requirements of the text with the author or supervisor

Element: 2. Transcribe from an audio source

  •  Produce text using keyboarding techniques from an audio transcription with the required accuracy
  • Predict the meaning of any unclear speech from the context or clarify with authors
  • Ensure text developed from the audio transcription conveys intended meaning
  • Clarify the spelling of names or any technical terms and punctuation to ensure accuracy and clarity of the text
  • Produce draft text within designated timelines
  •  Self-check draft text for accuracy

  • Circulate draft for checking in line with requirements of the organization or originator of the transcription
  •  Incorporate any amendments and self-check final text for accuracy, grammar, and appropriateness for intended purpose and audience
